We expect consolidation in the RE space to continue and gain more traction. In the year 2018, renewable energy will be riding very strong tailwinds and will continue to spur growth for the renewable sector. The domestic PV manufacturing will improve in the coming year, thus reducing the dependence of the imported PVs. The Government of India’s has planned for RE tendering trajectory in 2018 to 2020 which will eventually boost the domestic PV manufacturing industry. We are hoping that in the coming year, regulatory institutions and the state owned utilities will deal with the complex regulatory issues affecting the renewable energy industry proficiently and in timely manner. The focus on EV’s will continue and as the Government of India will roll out the implementation of the roadmap with broad based consensus of all stakeholders, we hope to see convergence on certain key issues such as battery charging infrastructure, clear and viable regulatory and policy roadmap for implementation of EVs including phased subsidies for EV platforms.
